Marine engines are adapted to marine emissions standards
Eneria also develops its own solutions to meet the new international marine standards (IMO, TIER) or by offering a hybrid propulsion.
Marine engines are subjected to many emission standards all around the World. These emission standards depend on the application, the type of vessel and the area.
The major marine emissions standards are:
- IMO standards (International Marine Organization) regulation emissions globally and define specific areas called ECA (Emission Control Areas). This standard defines the levels of emissions appointed IMO I, IMO II, IMO III.
- EPA standards were established by the United States and Canada and define emission levels for commercial applications and marine. These emissions are classified EPA Tier 2, EPA Tier 3, EPA Tier 4.
- The EU standards are European standards and are rated as Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, Stage IV and Stage V.
Caterpillar marine engines are already adapted to international emission standards and our marine specialists will advise you based on your application and your navigation area.
